About Us
In 1936 Fred Weick joined Engineering and Research Corporation‘s (ERCO) fledgling aircraft team as chief designer, primarily to continue improving his aircraft design. Focusing his efforts on a number of design issues, primarily simplicity and safety. Weick strove to create a reasonably priced aircraft that would not stall or spin.Along with the ingenious riveter design combined into one operation the once -separate task of hole punching or drilling , press dimpling ( for flush rivets) rivet feeding and upsetting these tasks are performed by one operator at one location with great safety without the need of shifting the work between punching and riveting and at speed up to 45 rivets per minute. Model HD Forming & Flanging Machine utilizes the oscillation of a short brake tool against a hold-down tool at variable strokes per minute Shrinker-Strecher Forms unusual shapes without dies. ERCO Former-Flanger Eliminates need for expensive dies in edge-flanging & forming operations where limited production makes heavy press equipment too costly.Model 1447 foot operated ERCO shrinking & stretching machine originally developed for use in the aircraft industry, now widely used by the entire metalworing industry because of its ability to remove wrinkles and to fir sections normally formed in presses form rolled etc. Today ERCO design, manufacture, sell and service the world’s best State of the art metal working tools effective range of sheet metal formers flangers ,shrinkers stretchers riveters, providing customers the opportunity to save Billions of dollars since the beginning.
